Allen Cremeens

December 18, 1924 — August 20, 2021

Allen Cremeens, 96, of Equality, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 20, 2021.  Allen was a staple of the Equality and Gallatin County communities.  He worked for forty-eight years as a mechanic at DeVous Brothers and M & S Implement Co. in Equality.  He supported many in the churches in the community and was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Junction.  Born in Norris City in December 18, 1924 to the late Alex and Alma (Storey) Cremeens.  Allen married the love of his life, Mildred Stacey on April 4, 1945.  Sadly Mildred passed away on October 21, 2000.  Allen is survived by two daughters, Ruth Ann Stuart Grant of Equality and Deborah Jean Price of Equality; his son, Charles Allen and Janet Cremeens of Equality; one brother, Ivan Cremeens of Bethalto; his daughter-in-law, Lea Ann Cremeens of Equality;  eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one son, Robert Earl Cremeens.  Visitation for Allen will be held on Monday, August 23rd from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality.  Funeral service will be the following day, Tuesday, August 24th at 11 a.m. with Reverend Robert Patton will officiate.  Burial will follow at Hogan Cemetery near Shawneetown.
