Ann Tawzer Moye, 90, of Corsicana, Texas was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday surrounded by her loving family. Ann was born to Minnie and Leon Davis on November 29, 1931, in Harrisburg, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold Moye of fifty-seven years, son, John J. Moye, brother, Charles Davis, and great granddaughter, Kaylin Escoto-Reyna. Ann faithfully served alongside her husband, Harold, as they ministered in churches in Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, and Hawaii under the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Together they also served as staff members at Buckner Baptist Children’s Home in Dallas, Texas for thirteen years, as well as the Masonic Home for Children in Alexandria, Louisiana for seventeen years. Ann was a gifted musician and artist. She began playing the piano around age eleven and became her church pianist by the age of fourteen even though she only knew three church songs. The church said, “That’s fine, we’ll just sing them until you know more.” She was a seamstress for the Dallas Opera and a founding member of the Star Harbor Watercolor Society with her artwork being displayed from coast to coast. She recently became a published author, writing a memoir of her life that will be cherished by her family for generations to come. Well Bless My Soul is available for purchase on Amazon. Survivors include daughters, Dianna Hester and husband Thomas of Corsicana, Texas, Linda Dugger of Mesquite, Texas; son, David Moye of Livonia, Louisiana; brother, Luther Davis and wife Sandee of Battleground, Washington. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sam Dugger, Carl Hester, Michelle Smith and husband Bruce, Leon Moye, Melissa Moye and Heather Moye. She is also survived by her great grandchildren which include Thomas Hester, Jacob Hester, Chuy Escoto-Reyna, Alyssa Nichols, Andrea McAngus, Bruce Smith, Ian Moye, Edward Moye, Devan Morgan, Miah Hutchinson, Tianna Hutchinson, and Rylee Moye. She was so very proud of her great great grandchildren which include Rudy, Charliee and Emelia Escoto-Reyna, Brody, Cannan and Emmett Nichols, Braxton Sanchez, and one due the end of July. Visitation will be Friday, February 25th from 6-8 pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 26th, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home with Larry Talbert officiating. Services will also be held at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway, Illinois on Monday, February 28th with Rev. Don Moye officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-11a.m. with the service following at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Jackson Cemetery. Pallbearers include Carl Hester, Bruce Smith Jr., Thomas Hester, Jacob Hester, Bruce Smith III, and Dylan Nichols. Honorary pallbearers include Sam Dugger, Leon Moye, Ian Moye, Edward Moye, Devan Morgan and Chuy Escoto-Reyna.
