Barbara Jean (Whitler) Casey

Barbara Jean Casey, 79. of Madisonville, Ky.formerly of Shawneetown, Ill., passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Baptist Health in Madisonville.   She was born July 27, 1939 in Shawneetown to the late Joe Whitler and Louise Awalt Whitler.   Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church in Ridgway.  She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Earl Casey and one daughter, Kimberly Casey of Madisonville and three grandchildren, Brandy, Brenna, and Grant. Funeral services will be Thursday, Nov. 29nd at  11 a.m. at Ridgway First Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Halloway officiating. Burial will be held at Westwood Cemetery in Shawneetown. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28th at Barnett-Strother funeral home in Madisonville and on Thursday, 9 a.m. until service time at Ridgway First Baptist Church.   Pallbearers will be Clint Tuthill, Jamie Ambrose, George Hise, Mike Vickery, Jerry Cathey, and Bill Bradley. Honorary pallbearer will be Grant Thompson.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ridgway First Baptist Church. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.  Vickery Funeral Chapel of Shawneetown in charge of local services.
