Betty Borum

Betty Borum, 75, of 288 E. Jackson St., Equality, Ill., passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, 7:40 a.m., at Deaconess Hospice Care Center in Evansville, Ind. She was born on February 23, 1934 in Shawneetown to Charles Wesley and Margaret Irene (Gobel) Mann. Betty married Charles Mclain Borum on June 7, 1955 and he preceded her in death on July 6, 1989. She is survived by daughter, Bonnie Lyder of Gainesville, Fla.; son, Bill and Rosa Borum of Equality; three sisters, Mary Lou Barnett of Equality, Carolyn and Harry Alvey of Equality, Joyce and Troy Riley of Eldorado; four brothers, Willard Mann of McAllen, Tx., Jim Mann of Equality, Ralph"Ed" and Glenna Mann of Harrisburg, Jack and Doris Mann of Florahome, Fla.; three grandchildren, Raymond, Ashley and Molly Borum; four great grandchildren, Tristin, Makalee, Lance, and Aiden. Preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Tamara Borum; three brothers, Max, Joseph, and Charles J. Mann. Visitation for Betty will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jack Hall officiating. Burial will be at Cottage Grove Cemetery near Equality.
