Betty L. Davis

Betty L. Davis, 78, of 641 S. Washington, Du Quoin, Il; formerly of Shawneetown, passed away at her home on Thursday, July 30, 2009, 7:35 a.m. She was born in Shawneetown on July 12, 1931, the daughter of Millard and Alma (Thompson) Smith Sr. Betty married Raymond "Brownie" Davis on February 25, 1951. Brownie preceded her in death on September 17, 1981. Betty is survived by two daughters, Gail and Raymond Lively of Wright City, Mo., Robin and Aaron Hepp of Anna; and three sons, Marshall Davis of Du Quoin, Charles Davis of Du Quoin, Mike and Tracy Davis of Tamaroa; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, her husband, and one brother, Millard Smith Jr. Visitation for Betty will be Saturday, August 1, 2009 from noon to 1 p.m. at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown with a graveside service to follow at Hogan Cemetery near Shawneetown with Rev.
