Caroline Ruth (Berry) Gentles

Caroline Ruth Gentles, 76, of Shawneetown, Ill., passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the Linda E. White Hospice House of Evansville, Ind.  She was born on January 6, 1943 in East Prairie, Mo., the daughter of the late Wilson Lynn Edward and Helen Ruth (Hooper) Berry.  On April 25, 1959 she married James Robert Gentles.  Caroline is survived by her husband, Jim Gentles of Shawneetown; one daughter, Cindy and Terry Williams of Shawneetown; one son, Brad and Michele Gentles of Junction; two brothers, Roy G. and Marilyn Berry of Equality, Donald Berry of Shawneetown; six grandchildren, Tiffany and Scott Sauls of Shawneetown, Garrett and Jamie Williams of Shawneetown, Elijah Gentles of Shawneetown, Cassie and Daniel Seely of Ponds Settlement-Ridgway, Josh Gentles of Junction, Kacy Speer (Jordan Godfrey) of Equality; seven great grandchildren; Warner, Gracie, and Hannah Sauls, Callen Williams, Preston and Priscilla Seely, and Wade Godfrey.  She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Wilson Berry Gentles; four sisters, Peggy Sue Berry, Janet Frailey, Sharon Keith, and Linda Lou Daily; two brothers, Jimmie Lee and Lonnie Steven Berry.   Visitation for Caroline will be on Saturday, March 16th from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m.  Burial will be Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.
