Cathy Lee (Berry) Flahardy

Cathy Lee Flahardy, 67, of Shawneetown, Illinois, passed away after an extended illness on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.  Cathy was born in Chicago on September 18, 1955.  One of two daughters born to Roy Gene “R.G” and Marilyn Del (Thornbrough).  On March 31, 1975 she married Bill Brannon.  Bill on the 13th of May 2004 he preceded Cathy in death.  Cathy was blessed again in marriage to Gary Flahardy on October 6, 2007.  They were wedded at Ponds Hollow one of Cathy’s favorite places.  She retired after thirty-eight years she worked as treasurer of the Gallatin County Schools.  Cathy also attended Junction General Baptist Church.    She is survived by her husband, Gary Flahardy of Shawneetown; her daughter, Kasey and Jason Brazier of Junction; her son, Jason Brannon of Eldorado; her parents, R.G. and Marilyn Berry of Equality; her sister, Janice and Burnie Ditterline of Lake Wales, Florida; one step daughter, Michele and Brad Gentles of Junction; one step son, Michael and Joy Flahardy of Yorktown, Indiana; several grandchildren and great grandchildren - Mason, Jasie, and Chila Blair; Logan, Karson, Zoey, and Laney Brannon; Mckenna and Matthew Brazier; Kacy Speer, Joshua Gentles, Wade Godfrey; Sydnee, Avery, and Ashley Flahardy; Jordan, Ava, Lennox and Cora Waddle. Cathy also leaves behind many friends that will truly miss her.   Visitation for Cathy will be held on Tuesday, October 25th from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.  Brother Michael Rushing will officiate the service.  Burial will be at Hogan Cemetery near Shawneetown.
