Charles G. Oldham, 75, of Equality, Illinois, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 7:02 a.m. at the Harrisburg Medical Center of Harrisburg. He was born near Junction on April 21, 1943, the son of the late Garcie and Imogene (Sarver) Oldham. Charles married the former Oretha E. Marcum on the 18th of December 1963. He was a retired coal miner and a longtime member of the Equality Social Brethren Church. Also he proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. Charles is survived by his loving wife, Oretha Oldham of Equality; one son, Tim and Rhonda Oldham of Equality; two daughters, Sheila Jenkins of Equality, Connie Starns of Harrisburg; one sister, Delana Morse of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Kyle and Stephanie Oldham of Harrisburg, Ashley and Bart Stanley of Ridgway, Tyler Duckworth of Equality, Cory and Jonnie Starns of Harrisburg; six great grandchildren, Keaton, Wyatt, McKenzie, Charles, Raylee and Gabriel. Visitation for Charles will be on Thursday, March 28th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Funeral service will be the following day at the funeral home on Friday, March 29th at 1 p.m. with Reverend Ted Boulds officiating. Burial will be at the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown with the military honors by the Ridgway American Legion Post #596 and Army Honors Team from Marion.
