Charles Robert Tucker, 82, of Harrisburg, formerly of Shawneetown, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 28, 2013, 9:30 p.m. He was born on April 8, 1930 in Shawneetown, the son of Elzie and Opal Brison (Maynard) Tucker. Charles married Mary Jane Price on December 26, 1950. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Charles is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Tucker of Harrisburg; two daughters, Donna Thompson of Harrisburg, Linda and Brian Pilkington of Eldorado; one sister, Doris "Tiny" and Eugene Dodd of Shawneetown; two brothers, Harrison Tucker of Evansville, Ind., Lewis "Fred" and Esther Tucker of Equality; three grandchildren, Tyler Pilkington of Eldorado, Justin and Jamie Jones of Mt. Vernon, Ind., Erin and Ryan Floyd of McLeansboro; five great grandchildren, Chayse, Wyatt, Dylan, Braxton, and Zaelynn. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Tim Jones; six sisters and five brothers. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 4 p.m. until memorial service time at 5 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Reverend Leo Hall will be officiating.
