Rev. Charles William Waggoner, 64, of Shawneetown, Illinois, was called to Heaven on Thursday, November 21st, 2024 at his home. Charles was born on November 26th, 1959 in Centralia, the son of the late William Sr. and Karen Laverne (McCoy) Waggoner. Charles married the former Zandra Lindsay on June 8th of 2002 at the Abundant Life Fellowship Church in Carrier Mills. He served the Lord as a Church of God minister and bishop in Southern Illinois. Charles was a member of the Shawneetown Church of God. Chuck was a certified Ham Radio operator and an avid sports fan. Charles is survived by his wife, Zandra Waggoner of Shawneetown; six siblings, Tami and William Blake of Dwight, Fred and Molly Waggoner of West Frankfort, Melissa Kelly of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, Rebecca and Kyah Smith of Centralia, Rhonda Joy of Irvington, Virginia and Kenneth Hodge of Centralia; three brother-in-laws, Deon and Kim Lindsay of McLeansboro, Leon Lindsay of Equality, and Daryl Lindsay of Pensacola, Florida; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Shirl Waggoner; one sister, Barb McFarland; two brothers, William Jr. and Echo Waggoner, and Chris Wray; his father and mother-in-law, Trendell and Myrna Lindsay; his sister-in-law, Cheryl Lindsay. Visitation for Charles will be held on Sunday, November 24th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Shawneetown Church of God. Funeral service will be the following day at the church on Monday, November 25th at 1 p.m. with Reverend Lyle Culp Jr. and Reverend Randy Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow the service at Cottage Grove Cemetery near Eldorado. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown will be in charge of the services.
