Clarke Delbert Bond, 79, of Ridgway, Illinois, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 8, 2024 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. Clarke began his journey into life on October 28, 1944 in Ridgway, one of seven children born to the late O.F. and Lorene (Clark) Bond. He worked at many tasks for his family business, the Bond Lumber Company. Clarke in his youth played baseball, basketball and volleyball. He was a Christian by Faith. On June 12, 1964 he married the former Linda M. Klaffer. Sadly Linda preceded Clarke in death on August 10, 2016. He is survived by two daughters, Carmen and Teddy Gautney of Fairhope, Alabama, Cindy and Larry Smith of Ridgway; his son, Jeff Bond of Norris City; one sister, Joyce Bond of O’Fallon; one brother, Carl and Linda Bond of Ridgway; twelve grandchildren, Brittiny Bond and Kevin Stucky of Carmi, Dakota Bond and Grace Duncan of Evansville, Kade Bond and Kenna Bond of Norris City, Cody and Kristen Broadway of Herrin, Denver and Cari Broadway of Enfield, Breanna Broadway and Dax Norris of Foley, Alabama, Anakin, Parker and Gracie Gautney of Fairhope, Alabama, Jared and Ardon Smith of Ridgway, Larenda and Kyle Woods of Eldorado; sixteen great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Jane Bond of Ridgway, Also, several special nieces and nephews survive. Clarke was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four brothers, Carroll Gene, Cleve, Cletus “Doc: and Doug Bond. Visitation for Clarke will be held on Friday, April 12th from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway. Reverend Louis Devous will officiate the service. Burial will follow the service at Crawford Campground Cemetery near Ridgway.
