Doyle Gene Rister

Doyle Gene Rister, 80, of 6905 Crunk Road, Omaha, Ill., passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2009, 10:30 p.m., at Select Hospital in Evansville, Ind. He was born on October 10, 1928 in Omaha to Herman Doyle and Mabel (Carney) Rister. Gene married Clyda Gertrude Speer on November 19, 1948 and she preceded him in death on August 14, 1998. He was a member and served as Deacon at Omaha Baptist Church in Omaha and was a life long farmer. Gene is survived son and daughter in law, Doyle and Brenda Rister of Omaha. He was preceded in death by both his parents and wife. Visitation for Gene will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Blaine Felty. Burial will be at Old Cottonwood Cemetery near Omaha.
