Eddie Neil Speer

Eddie Neil Speer, 81, of Junction, Illinois, passed away at the Marion VA Medical Center on Sunday, January 19, 2020.  Eddie was born in Dearborn, Michigan on December 11, 1938.  His parents were the late Velmer and Verna Ann (Nelson) Speer.  Eddie was a retired farmer and an Army veteran of the Vietnam Era.  He leaves behind his loving family of two daughters, Kellie and Glen Beal of Harrisburg, Beth and Robert Maynard of O’Fallon, Missouri; one son, Mark Speer of Junction; two sisters, Delores Krake of Michigan, Lois Kay and Monte Hart of South Carolina; one brother, Donald and Janet Speer of Michigan; four grandchildren, Zachery and Kyleigh Beal of Fairview Heights, Evan Maynard of Kansas City, Missouri, Lauren Maynard of O’Fallon, Missouri, Kacy Speer of Shawneetown; one great grandson, Wade Alan Godfrey; and special friend, Tina Flynn of Eldorado.  Visitation for Eddie will be held on Tuesday, January 21st from 10 a.m. until service time at 12 p.m. (Noon) at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.  Brother Floyd Bradley will officiate the service.  Burial will be at Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.  Donations in Eddie’s memory may be made to MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome) Foundation, 4573 South Broad Street, Suite 150, Yardville, NJ 08620.
