Edith L. "De De" (Kanady) Rigsby

Edith L. "De De" Rigsby, 92, of Shawneetown, passed away at her home on Friday, April 12, 2013, 2:50 p.m. She was born on April 2, 1921 in Saline Mines, Ill., the daughter of George A. and Mabel (Kinder) Kanady. De De married Marshall Ray Rigsby on March 17, 1951 in Eldorado. Marshall preceded her in death on April 6, 1986. She was a member of the Shawneetown Presbyterian Church and the Bowlesville Friendship Club. De De is survived by her daughter, Marsha K. Howell of Evansville, Ind.; two sons, Larry E. and Brenda Wood of Shawneetown, Billy R. and Debbie Rigsby of Ozark; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Wilma Trial and one brother, Nolan Kanady. Visitation for De De will be held on Monday, April 15 ^th from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Rev. Jim Howard will be officiating with burial at Hogan Cemetery near Shawneetown. Donations in her memory may be made to the Hogan Cemetery.
