Edith Sanks

Edith Sanks, 95, of Equality, IL, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, 11:50 a.m. at the Fountain View Nursing Home in Eldorado. She was born at the Sanks family farm near Equality on August 8, 1917 the daughter of David Rees and Mattie E. (Jones) Sanks I. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Shawneetown and belonged to the Home Extension - Lane Unit. Edith is survived by three nephews, Gene Sanks and Judy Keasler of Equality, Van and Anice Sanks of Knoxville, Tenn., Rees Sanks of Reno, Nev.; great niece, Vanessa Sanks; and great nephew, Jason Sanks. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Celeste Bennett; two brothers, David and D. Gene Sanks. Visitation for Edith will be held on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Funeral will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. with two of her nephews, Van and Gene Sanks officiating. Burial will be at the Elmwood Cemetery near Equality.
