Elizabeth Joan (Rister) Cutrell

Elizabeth Joan Cutrell, 76, of Prattville, Ala. formerly of Shawneetown, Ill., passed away at the Alabama University Hospital in Birmingham, Ala. on Saturday, September 7, 2013; 11:40 p.m. Elizabeth was born on July 21,1937 in Omaha, Illinois. She is preceded in passing by her father, Alvin Rister and mother, Mable (Bryant) Rister; husband, James Albert Cutrell, and two brothers, William S. "Bill" Rister and George R. "Dick" Rister. Joan married James on September 1, 1955 and he preceded her in death on March 26, 2006. She is survived by one brother, Bob Rister of Harrisburg; two daughters, Vanessa J. and Deon Withrow of Prattville, Ala., Sandra I. and Wayne Milles of Shreveport, La. and one son, James L. Cutrell of Shawneetown and good family friend, Betty and Eldon Withrow. She had seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. There will be visitation on Wednesday, September 11 th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 12 th at 11 a.m. at the chapel with Pastor Jack Hall officiating. Burial will be at the Reid Cemetery near Shawneetown.
