Elsie Mae (Belt) Sharp

Elsie Mae Belt Sharp, 82, of Eldorado, Illinois formerly of Shawneetown, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.  She was born on October 12, 1939 in Smithland, Kentucky the daughter of the late Charlie and Robertie (Jackson) Belt.  She married Robert “Bob” Stewart Sharp on June 30, 1958.  Bob preceded Elsie in death on April 20, 2022.  Elsie was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church.  She is survived by four daughters, Laverne Jackson of Metropolis, Joanne Barger of Shawneetown, Wanda Sharp of Shawneetown, Dianne Sharp of New Martinsville, West Virginia; one son, Bobby Wayne and Sherri Sharp of Shawneetown; two brothers, Louis Jackson of Smithland, Kentucky, Bill Belt of Salem, Kentucky; four sisters, Francis “Tinker” Jones of Conway, South Carolina, Edna Driskell of Paducah, Kentucky, Flo Fondaw of Smithland, Kentucky, and Irene Belt of Smithland, Kentucky. Elsie is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.  Along with her parents and husband Elsie was preceded in death by daughter, Ruby Pearl Tipton and son, Charles Wayne Sharp.  There will be a graveside service on Saturday, October 29th at 2 p.m. at the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.  Reverend James R. Hubbard will officiate the service.
