Emma Kathleen (Belt) Rash

Emma Kathleen Rash, 58, of Shawneetown, Illinois, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at the Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.  Daughter to the late George G. and Elizabeth D. (Driskill) Belt, she was born on June 29, 1964 in Sturgis, Kentucky.  Emma was married on June 26th of 2009 to David E. Rash who survives.  She was formerly a maintenance worker at the Walmart Superstore in Morganfield, Kentucky.  Emma was Christian by faith and was a member of the Stonefort General Baptist Church.  Along with her husband, David Rash of Shawneetown she is also survived by her son, Jacob and Chelsea Rash of Junction; one sister, Sheryl Rose Hazel of Sturgis, Kentucky; two brothers, Jim D. And Marla Belt of Caseyville, Kentucky, George R. “Porky” and Marcy Belt of Sturgis, Kentucky; and one granddaughter, Braelyn Marie Rash.  She is also by survived by several nieces and nephews.  Visitation for Emma will be held on Monday, April 3rd from 10 a.m. until service time at 12 p.m. noon at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.  Pastor Jeff Owens will officiate the service with burial to follow at Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.
