Ethel Blanche (Padgett) Gibbons

Ethel Blanche Gibbons, 86, of Harrisburg, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013, 7:50 a.m. at the Saline Care Center in Harrisburg. She was born on July 12, 1926 in Shawneetown, the daughter of John E. and Hattie May (Smith) Padgett. Ethel is the wife of the late Rev. Cecil Gibbons who passed away on October 4, 1997. She previously worked at the Shawnee Cabinet Factory and at Hardin’s Grocery. Survived by a niece, Neva and Wayne Rushing of Shawneetown; one nephew, Leo and Myrna Hall of Norris City; great niece, Samantha Rushing of Shawneetown. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sister, Maggie Hall, Bonnie Hardin, and Mandy Ruth Kingston; and one brother, Virgil Padgett. Visitation for Ethel will be held on Sunday, July 7 ^th from noon until service time at 2 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. Reverend Randy Vaughn will officiate.
