Etta Jane (Ripperden) Brazier

Etta Jane Brazier, 92, of Kuttawa, Kentucky formerly of Ridgway, Illinois, passed away at the Kuttawa Landmark Nursing home on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.  She was born in Omaha on December 2, 1931, the daughter of the late Ervin Harold and Iva Lodene Reba (Eskew) Ripperden.  Jane owned and operated Janes Restaurant and Beauty Shop in Ridgway.  She was a member of the St. Kateri Catholic Church in Ridgway, Daughters of Isabella, and American Legion Auxiliary  She will always will be remembered for her good cooking and her love for dancing.  Jane is survived by three children, Billie Gaile Raney of Eddyville, Kentucky, Ronnie Gene and Karen Raney of Carmi, Rockey Leo and Roberta Raney of Omaha; her brother, Ervin Ralph Ripperden of Norris City; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Steven Keith Raney and her sister, Margaret Gwendolyn Wilkey.  There will be a private family service at Palestine II Cemetery near Omaha.  Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway in charge of arrangements.
