Franklin D. Calvert

Franklin D. Calvert, 72, of 211 West Roosevelt Ave. Shawneetown, passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2010, 4:15 a.m., at Ridgway Manor in Ridgway. He was born on May 4, 1937 in Shawneetown to John and Lorene (Hughes) Calvert. Frank married Virginia Kay Reynolds on July 22, 1972 and she preceded him in death on October 19, 1994. He served his country in the Air Force and was a retired electrician at the Island Creek Coal Mine. Frank is survived by his brother, Jess Calvert of Old Shawneetown. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kay Calvert; sister, Mary Elizabeth Mulvey; two brothers, Charles Wallace and John Wilburn Calvert. As per his wishes he will be cremated. There will be a graveside service at Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown and will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at 10 a..m. with Rev. Roy Dale Orr officiating. Military rites by Ridgway American Legion Post #596. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown in charge of arrangements.
