Garcia “Pat” Patton, of Middletown, Ohio. Born in 1927, he grew up in central Illinois. He worked in Chicago and served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict. He resided in Middletown, Ohio for most of his life, where he worked first at Aeronca Aircraft and then for the City of Middletown. He wed Thelma Dickerson in 1957. He was a longtime member of the South Middletown Church of God, and most recently attended Creekside Christian Church in Jamestown, Ohio. His retirement years were spent fishing and enjoying the sunshine in Crescent City, Florida, and his later years in a home near his daughter, Gail Williamson, and his son-in-law Dick Williamson of Xenia, Ohio. Garcia was the 2nd eldest son of Thurston and Eula Patton, who farmed and lived in central Illinois, and were the parents of 10 children. Garcia is survived by his daughter Gail and by his sister Ethna Joyce, and his sisters-in-law Van Patton and Alonda Patton. He was predeceased by brothers Everett, Cecil, Donnie and Billy, and sisters Corina, Shelba, Monav and Margaret. Visitation for Pat will be held on Thursday, June 27th from 10:30 a.m. until service time at 12:30 p.m. at the Honey Comb Church of God, 99 Karbers Ridge Road, Herod, Ill. He will be interred in Central Cemetery next to his wife Thelma and near the graves of many members of the Patton Family. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality in charge of arrangements.
