Geneda (Hise) Cox

Rev. Geneda Cox, 89, of Eldorado, Ill., formerly of Ridgway, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013, 2:43 a.m.  at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.  She was born on March 7, 1924 in Ridgway, the daughter of Jacob H. and Sarah Selena (James) Hise.  Geneda married Estele Jay Cox on February 1, 1947 and preceded her in death on July 19, 2001.  She served as Pastor at Bruce Chapel for five and a half years and was Pastor for several other churches for fifty years.  Geneda was a church member of the Ridgway Church of God.  She is survived by nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters, Ruby Moye, Cologna Hise, Velma Dixon and four brothers, Burtis, Gilbert, Earl D., and Ancil Hise.  Visitation for Geneda will be held on Thursday, December 19th from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway.  Rev.
