Helen Dorthetta (Moore) Brinkley

Helen Brinkley, 93, of Junction, Ill. , passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, 4:40 p.m. at the Ridgway Manor Nursing Home in Ridgway, Ill. She was born April 10, 1919 in Bowlesville, Ill., the daughter of Guy and Madeline (Ellis) Moore. Helen married Woodrow Brinkley on November 14, 1937 and he preceded her in death on August 24, 1995. She was a faithful member of the Leamington Community Church. Helen is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Jane and her husband Charles Scherrer of Newburgh, Ind., Jeannie and her husband John Schiff of Pensacola, Fla.; two sons, Paul David "Butch" and his wife Terri Brinkley of Junction, Bob Brinkley of Junction; foster daughter, Susie and her husband Mike Nixon of Waverly, Ky.; two sisters, Wilma and her husband Joe Patton of West Frankfort, Ruth Wiltshire of East Alton; daughter in law, Nancy Brinkley of Equality; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Agnes Marie and Erma Lee Brinkley; foster son, Donnie Brinkley; three sisters, Mary Hartsburg, Irene Mitchell, and Ann Blaize; three brothers, Charles, Glen and Bill Moore. Visitation for Helen will be held on Friday, July 20, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown. The funeral service will be on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Leamington Community Church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lee Fricker officiating. Burial will be at the Hogan Cemetery near Shawneetown.
