Helen (Goodman) Porter

Helen M. Porter, 98, of The Villages, Fla., passed away on Monday, April 16, 2012, at the Tuscany House in Summerfield, Fla. She was born July 25, 1913 in Paducah, Ky. to Lemuel and Nora (Williams) Goodman. Helen was the widow of John Calvin Porter who preceded her in death on April 28, 1987. She is survived by her son, James Porter of Woodlawn, Va.; two daughters, Dee O’Fiesh of Chester, Md., Ruthie Gotberg of The Villages, Fla.; brother in law, Ralph Porter of Shawneetown; nine grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren. There was a private graveside service held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Westwood Cemetery neat Shawneetown. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown was in charge of local arrangements.
