Irene (Oldham) Eubanks

October 31, 1911 — January 3, 2013

Irene Eubanks, 101, of Shawneetown, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2013; 2:55 p.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, Ind. She was born on October 31, 1911 in Cave-In-Rock, Ill., the daughter of Charles Ellis and Mattie (Holloway) Oldham. Irene married James Henry Eubanks on November 26, 1936 and he preceded her in death on February 18, 1977. She was a faithful member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Shawneetown. Irene is survived by four daughters, Janis and Del Beasley of Evansville, Ind., Ann and Larry Austin of Evansville, Ind., Jane Baldridge of Augusta, Ga., and Yvonne Grussing of Sidney, Ill.; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Evelyn Hise and Wilmetta Eubanks; three brothers, Jesse H., Garcia, and Gordon Oldham. Visitation for Irene will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Rev. Jason Davis and Rev. Grace Baldridge will be officiating. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown. Donations in Irene’s memory may be made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Shawneetown. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown will be in charge of arrangements. Internet condolences can be sent at the website, www.vickeryfuneralchapel.com.
