James L. Spahr

James L. "Jim" Spahr, 81, of Equality, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, 10 p.m. at his home. He was born on October 25, 1931 in Equality, the son of Louis and Catherine (Schmitt) Spahr. Jim married Dorothy Drone on January 30, 1957. He was a long time farmer and a Navy veteran. Also Jim was a faithful member of the St. Kateri Catholic Church. Jim is survived by his wife, Dorothy Spahr of Equality; one son, Louis Spahr also of Equality; two daughters, Donna Spahr of Evansville, Ind., Judy Spahr of Harrisburg; one sister, Margaret Abell of Evansville, Ill.; two grandchildren, Aaron Spahr of Evansville, Ind., Abby and Garrett Roe of Ridgway; one great grand daughter, Brielle Roe. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John William Spahr. Visitation for Jim will be held on Friday, November 23, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality with prayer service at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at the St. Kateri Catholic Church - Equality Chapel on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Father Steven Beatty conducting the service. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery near Equality. Internet condolences may be made at the website, www.vickeryfuneralchapel.com.
