Jason "Razor" Montgomery Hines

Jason Montgomery “Razor” Hines, 49, of Marion, Illinois formerly of Equality passed away on Wednesday, January 1st, 2025 from his injuries from a fire at his home, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.  He was born on April 6th of 1975 in Fairfield, the son of Kenneth Ray “Sunny” Hines and Cherie Ann (Jones).  Jason married the former Mendi Lee Hafford on January 12th of 2021, who survives.  He was a welder and mechanic at Phillips Global in West Frankfort.  Jason loved his job and was a natural.  He put his heart and soul into his work and was a perfectionist in everything he did.  Jason is survived by his wife Mendi Hines of Marion; two children, Brayden and Kagen Vanzant; his father, Kenneth and Naomi Hines of Equality; his brother, Scott and Susan Hines of Texas; two nieces, Rhiannon and Jeremy Losack, Jessica and Jef Hamangau; two nephews, Alex Hines, Joshua and Tiffany Hines; father and mother-in-law. Denzil and Carla Hafford; brother-in-law, Matthew Hafford.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Cherie Jones; his brother, Brian Hines; grandparents, Ray and Irene Hines.  Memorial service may be held at a later date.  Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality in charge of arrangements.
