Jeffrey Stewart Mondy

Jeffrey Stewart Mondy, 54, of the Rocky Branch community of Harrisburg passed away on Friday, January 7, 2011 in Carbondale, Ill. He was born on August 19, 1956 in Eldorado to Ronnie C. and Barbara (Fink) Mondy. Jeffrey worked as a Paralegal and had a Bachelors degree in Art History, a Masters degree in Rehabilitation, worked with children in the Sullivan Reading Program, and also a passionate Abstract Artist and loved music, his family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Mondy of Harrisburg; three sisters, Jennifer and Danny Feuquay, Jill and Dale Fowler, Jana and Doug Emery, all of Harrisburg; seven nieces and nephews, Rachael Willis, Rebecca Willis and Bill King, Emily and Jason Goemaat, Hannah Fowler, Ben Fowler, Bryce Emery, Reese Emery; six great nieces and nephews, Heidi Willis, Aidan King, Terry Bethel, Caleb Bethel, Zachary Bethel, and Margot Willis; and several Aunts, Uncles and cousins also survive. He is preceded in death by his father and sister, Julie Susan Mondy. Visitation for Jeffrey will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. There will be a graveside service on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Cottage Grove Cemetery near Equality and Rev. Allen Porter will be officiating.
