Jerry Wayne Burton, 79, of Sebastian, Florida formerly of Equality, Illinois passed away from a motorcycle accident on Saturday, August 27th, 2022.  He was born on March 16th, 1943 in Fredonia, Kentucky.  Jerry married the former Verda Lois Patton on April 2nd, 1962.  Verda preceded Jerry in death in May of 2003.  He loved to ride his motorcycles and rode all over the United States.  Jerry also loved to shoot his guns and go prairie dog hunting in Montana.  Jerry spent his days deciding who to visit today!  He loved spending time with family and friends.  He was a retired coal miner and a Army veteran. Jerry and Verda were blessed with three daughters, Lois Burton and Ted Stone of Ridgway, Jerri Lynn and Steve Owens of Newburgh, Indiana, Stanley Sue Healy and Kelly Killman of Norris City.  He is also survived by  one brother, Robert and Mireille Burton of Satellite Beach, Florida; two sisters, Carol Burton of Sebastian, Florida, Debbie and Stanley Shuecraft of Fellsmere, Florida; grandchildren, Stacie and Nathan Leibering of Knoxville, Tennessee, Audra Owens of Orlando, Florida, Wendy Owens of Evansville, Indiana, Makayla Healy of Norris City; Matthew Healy and Family, Katelyn Weirather and family, Joshua Healy; nephews, Dale and Renee Patton, Jack and Julie Burton, Colton Shuecraft;  niece, Sophie and Ken Williams; several great nieces and nephews.  Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Jennings Rogers and his wife, Verda.   Visitation for Jerry will be held on Saturday, September 3rd from noon 12 p.m. until memorial service time at 2 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality.  The Reverend Robert D. Patton will officiate the service.
