Jessie Marie (Walker) Brockett

Jessie Marie Brockett, 81, of Norris City, Illinois, passed at her home on Saturday, January 30. 2021.  She was born on February 27, 1939 in Pond Creek, Illinois, the daughter of the late Alva and Dorothy Fern (Smith) Walker.  Marie married Hobart Reece Brockett on December 31, 1960 and he preceded her in death on November 7, 1996.  She worked for many years as office manager for the Village of Omaha.  Also, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Norris City.  Marie is survived by her daughter, Brenda Covert of Greer, South Carolina; her son, David Brockett of Norris City; one brother, James and Susan Walker of Watseka, Illinois; two grandchildren, Barron Covert and Jasmine Covert; two great grandchildren, Naomi and Natalie. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Horton.  Visitation for Marie will be held on Saturday, February 6th from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m.  Reverend Dennis Reed will officiate the service.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Palestine II Cemetery.  Due to Covid-19, social distancing and face masks will be required.
