Joann Dees

Joann Dees, 80, of Equality passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, 12:45 p.m. at Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg. She was born on April 17, 1930 near Harrisburg, Ill. to Virgil and Pauline (Robinson) Alvey. Joann married David L. Dees on July 8, 1950. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Equality. Joann is survived by her husband, David L. Dees of Equality; two sons, Richard and Nora Dees of Chicago, Dennis and Cathy Dees of Downers Grove; two brothers, Harry and Carolyn Alvey of Equality, David and Emma Alvey of West Lafayette, Ind.; four grandchildren, Sarah and Kevin Kline of Westmont, Elliott Dees of Mundelein, Spencer Dees of Oxford, Ohio, Erin Dees of Portland, Ore. She was preceded in death by parents and one sister, Elsie Baker. Visitation for Joann will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2010 at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jim Allison officiating. Burial will be at the Cottage Grove Cemetery near Equality.
