John Clifford Curtis

John Clifford Curtis, 52, of Harrisburg, Ill., passed away at his home on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 10 a.m. He was born on February 11, 1960 in Harrisburg, the son of the late Clifford and Dorothy (Lawrence) Curtis. John married Sherry Stricklin on June 18, 1982. John was a heavy equipment operator for Morris Excavating of Galatia and a member of Dorrisville Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Curtis of Harrisburg; four sons, John Clifford Curtis Jr. and fiancé Melissa Thompson, Jason Curtis, James Curtis, and Joshua Curtis, all of Harrisburg; two brothers, Gary and Jamie Curtis, both of Harrisburg; three grandchildren, Jordan, Ashdin, and Landon.  Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the North Williford Baptist Church in Harrisburg.   Vickery Funeral Chapel of Shawneetown will be in charge of arrangements.
