John Henry Daily Jr.

John Henry Daily Jr., 76, of Shawneetown, Ill., passed away after an extended illness on Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.  He was born on September 12, 1942 in Chattanooga, Tenn., the son of the late John Henry Sr. and Mary Wilma (Abell) Daily.  John married the love of his life Linda Lou Berry on October 24, 1968.  Linda preceded John in death on November 16, 2014.  He honorably served our nation in the Army during the Vietnam War.  John owned and operated the Daily Construction Company.  He is survived by his loving family, one daughter, Valerie Potter of Eldorado; two sons, David and Rhonda Daily of Bradenton, Fla., John A. and Vonda Daily of Shawneetown; one sister, Linda Nazlian of Chicago; one brother, Steve and Monica Daily of Cave-in-Rock; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  There will be a memorial gathering for family and friends at the Lincoln Street Pub in Shawneetown on Sunday, January 13th at 2 p.m.  Donations in John’s memory made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown will be in charge of arrangements.
