John Hubert Drone

John Hubert "Herb" Drone, 66, of 146 S. Van Buren St., Equality, passed away at his residence on Friday morning, October 10, 2008 at 6:08 a.m. Herb was named after his dad, John and his uncle, Hubert Muenstermann who was killed in WWII. He was born in Equality to John and Lucy (Muenstermann) Drone on March 25, 1942. Herb married Linda Carol Baldwin on June 4, 1971. He retired after twenty years in 2005 from the Saline Valley Conservancy District at the Equality Water Plant. Army veteran from the Vietnam War Era, Herb served in Germany with the 3rd battalion of the 84th Artillery. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Equality. Herb loved to go motorcycle riding, camping, hunting, fishing, gardening and foremost, his loving family, grandchildren and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his two daughters, Michelle Drone and Larry Sisco, Nicole Drone and Chuck Hardy, all of Equality; three sisters, Dorothy and Jim Spahr of Equality, Marti and Mike Storto of Equality, Dolores Schmitt of Ridgway; his brother, Cletus Drone of Ridgway; two grandchildren, Hannah Sisco and Nathan Sisco; sister-in-law, June Drone of Ridgway; brother-in-law, Leonard and Mary Ann Baldwin of Eldorado; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents; brother, Charles F. Drone, two sister-in-laws, Patsy Drone and Betty Jo Cook; two brother-in-laws, Roy Cook Jr. And Jim Schmitt and special friend, Ronnie Wargel. Visitation for Herb will be Sunday, October 12th from 4 to 8 p.m. with prayer service at 4 p.m. and will be held at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Funeral Mass will be on Monday, October 13th at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Equality with Father Mark Stec officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Joseph Cemetery near Equality. In lieu of flowers donations in Herb's memory may be made to Equality St. Joseph Church Building fund or Equality St. Joseph Cemetery fund.
