June (Kingery) Drone

Gloria June Drone, 85, of Ridgway, Illinois passed away on Thursday morning, August 24, 2023 at the Heart to Heart Hospice in Evansville, Indiana.  June was born on September 27, 1937 in Evansville, the daughter of the late Velta Wilber and Felda Mae (Acord) Kingery.  On July 7, 1956 she  married Charles Francis Drone.  Charles preceded her in death on May 31, 2005.   June was a member of St. Kateri Catholic Church and the St. Kateri Altar Society.  She is survived by her three daughters, Beth and Michael Wead of Ridgway, Karen and Chris Heberer of Equality, Becky Oldham and Ronnie Lindauer of Wadesville, Indiana; one son, Larry and Tammy Drone of Newburgh, Indiana; one sister, Kathy and Randy Cottom of Metropolis; three brothers, Keith Kingery of Eldorado, Jim and Mary Kingery of Shawneetown, Joe and Sarah Kingery of Raleigh; her sister-in-law, Dorothy “Bunny” Kingery of Colorado.  June is also survived by eleven grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Bob and Donnie Kingery; one sister, Sharon Kingery and her great grandson, Kamden Day.  Visitation for June will be held on Tuesday, August 29th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway.  Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 30th at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Kateri Catholic Church in Ridgway.  Father Christian Iwuagwu will officiate with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery near Equality.  In leiu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Joseph Cemetery-Equality.
