Karen Sue (Karber) Purvis

Karen Sue Purvis, age 86, passed away in her sleep from congestive heart failure on the morning of December 6th, 2023 at The Ocotillo House care home in Tucson, AZ. She was born October 8th, 1937 to the late James Winfield Karber and Irma Iola Karber of Ridgway, IL. Surviving are her son and daughter; Gordon (& Denise) Purvis of Sonoita, AZ and Belinda (& Douglas) Morgan of Hillsboro, OR. Her five grandsons; Zachary Morgan, Randall (& Mary Anna) Purvis, Timothy (& Shannon) Purvis, Joshua Purvis, Levi (& Alisa) Purvis and two granddaughters. She was a school teacher, graduated with a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Arizona in 1962, taught at Tucson District 1, Sunnyside Junior High, and Buena High School. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, active in many ministries at Christ Community Church in Tucson.  She had a passion for her family genealogy work and helped numerous families with their history as well. She was preceded in death by her late husband Junior Thomas Purvis.  There will be a memorial service at a later date at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway.  Friends and family may contact Gordon at his address, 7429 E. 22nd Street, Tucson, AZ 85710.
