Katherine (Lindsey) Winters

Katherine “Kathy” Winters, 82, of Ridgway, Illinois, passed away at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana on Friday, January 29, 2021.  She was born in Evansville, Indiana on February 19, 1938, the daughter of the late Delmar and Nellie (Frederick) Lindsey.  She married Thomas Herschel Winters on December 22, 1962.  Herschel preceded Kathy in death on September 9, 2001.  She worked over the years at the Shawnee Cabinet Factory, Pony Farm, and Patton’s Café.  Kathy is survived by her five daughters and three sons, Paula and Bill Curry of Junction, Mike Malone of Junction, Cindy Brown of Vienna, Tom Winters and Dwayne Scarbo of Bradenton, Florida, Tammy Jo Winters of Ridgway, Bill and Cindy Winters of Portland, Tennessee, Lou and C.I. Oldham of Shawneetown, Clara and Jack Logsdon of Shawneetown; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter, Joanna Durham; one daughter-in-law, Cathy Malone; one son-in-law, Willard Brown; three sisters, Judy Blades, Mary Lou Barfield, and Marie Kowgitz; two brothers, Richard Lindsey and John Oran.  Visitation for Kathy will be on Tuesday, February 2nd from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.  Reverend Charlie Curry will be officiating.  Burial will follow at the Rutherford Cemetery near Cave-in-Rock.  Due to Covid-19, social distancing and face masks will be required.
