Kenneth W. Hise

Kenneth "Kenny" W. Hise, 85, of Washington, Illinois, formerly of Ridgway passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Accolade Healthcare of East Peoria. He was born March 3, 1938 near Junction, the son of Glen and Aundean (Paris) Hise, and he was raised on a farm near Ridgway. He married Shirley Dowden-DeMolli in 1991 in Potomac. He graduated from Ridgway High School in 1955. He worked for Massey-Harris and Allis Chalmers in Springfield, and then to Caterpillar for 43 years, retiring in 2000 as a Senior Traffic Analyst. He grew up in the Church of the Nazarene in Omaha and was a member of Peoria First Nazarene, holding local and district offices. Kenny loved Southern Gospel Music and from the early 1960s and late 1970s promoted many professional gospel groups in Peoria and the Quad Cities. For 55 years he attended the National Quartet Convention. Surviving is his wife, Shirley; son, Philip (Michelle) Hise of Texas; step-kids, Ryan (Kristin) DeMolli of Wisconsin and Michaelle (Randy) Stirratt of Indiana; sister, Rita Hise of Oregon; brother, George (Carol) Hise of Illinois, and sister-in-law, Gatha (David) Coker of Illinois; grandchildren, Andrew and Katie Hise, Miles (Traci) Kirby, Eva Kirby, Benjamin and Nathan Weimer, Trevor (Paige) Stirratt, and Aaron and Corey Stirratt. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Margaret; brothers, Bertis and Eldon; and daughter, Becky Hise. A visitation and funeral service will be held in Morton on Friday, February 2nd. An additional visitation for Kenny will be held on Saturday, February 3rd from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway. Graveside service at 1 p.m. at Jackson Cemetery near Ridgway. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Southern Gospel Music Trust PO Box 932 Brentwood, TN 37024.
