Lesa Lavonne Melton

Lesa Lavonne Melton, 57, of Evansville, Ind., passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019 at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville.  She was born on August 22, 1962 in Metropolis, Ill. , the daughter of the late Vernon Gale and Clora Faye (Jennings) Melton.  Lesa was a certified nursing assistant.  She liked to fish, watch sports and garden and loved playing with the grandkids.  Lesa is survived by her companion, Tony Tyler of Evansville; her son, Gary Melton of Evansville; two daughters, Amanda and Jordan Laswell, Elesha Melton and Jarrod Hogan, all of Evansville; two brothers, Gene and Teresa Melton of Crossville, Ill., Rev. Brent and Carrie Melton of Princeton, Ky.; four sisters, Delonda and John Reed of Terra Haute, Ind., Loretta Melton of Corydon, Ky., Tanya and Johnnie Clifford II of New Haven, Ill., and April Abbott of Carmi, Ill.; her step mother, Brenda Melton of New Haven, Ill.; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Stanley Melton.  Visitation for Lesa will be held on Thursday, August 29th from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway, with a graveside service at 1 p.m. at the Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven.  The Rev. Brent Melton and Brother Ron Fellows will officiate the service.
