LuVean Smith, age 78, of Rosiclare passed on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Hardin County General Hospital in Rosiclare, surrounded by her family.
LuVean was born April 5, 1944 in Rosiclare to the late Richard and Hester (Beavers) Bosell. She married John Robert Smith on July 27 1960 and he preceded her in death on October 24, 2021. LuVean was a homemaker and member of the Carr’s Missionary Baptist Church in Morganfield Kentucky.
LuVean is survived by daughters, Carla McLain and husband Bill of Shawneetown; Terisa Williams and husband Duke of Equality; and Mari Rankin and husband Randy of West Frankfort; sisters, Velda Wilson of Cave-in-Rock and Mary Helen Scott of Cave-in-Rock; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Rose Page of Shawneetown; sister-in-law, Ann Smith of Omaha; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband John, and parents, LuVean was preceded in death by a son Dennis Smith, granddaughters Angela Williams, Renee Fisher, and Jari Barker and a grandson Bobby Gene Winters.
Memorial services for LuVean Smith will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Rev. Duke Williams and Rev. Buddy Hubbard will officiate and burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery at Equality. Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12 PM, Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
