Mabel E. Miner, 93, of Ridgway, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, 12:55 a.m. at the Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, Ky. She was born on July 1, 1920 in Shawneetown, the daughter of Charles and Iona (Brown) Satterfield. Mabel married Clyde W. Miner on September 1, 1946 and he preceded her in death on March 26, 2001. Mabel worked with Clyde operating the Strand Theatre in Ridgway for twenty-nine years. Also through the years she was employed by Attorney J.W. Karber, the Gallatin County Circuit Clerk, and Abstract Company. Mabel was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ridgway. She is survived by her grandchildren, Rebecca Ann Tynes of Benton, Ky. and Kevin Prince of Evansville, Ind. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela Ann and Dale Prince; grandson-in-law, John Tynes; two sisters, Emma Haley and Nellie Davis; five brothers. Lawrence, Isaac, Delmar, Bert, and William Satterfield. Visitation for Mabel will be held on Wednesday, September 25 th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway. Funeral service will be at the funeral chapel on Thursday, September 26 th at 1 p.m. with Rev. Randy Davis officiating. Burial will be at the Jackson Cemetery near Ridgway.
