Margaret Susan "Sue" (Scates) Kimbro

Margaret Susan “Sue” Kimbro, 77, of Ridgway, Illinois, passed away at her home early Saturday morning of June 8, 2024.  She was born in Shawneetown, one of ten children born to the late William Louis and Juanita Marie (Holt) Scates.  Sue was preceded in death by her Husband Arnel Ray “Bud” Kimbro  on May 14, 2024.  Sue and Bud entered Holy matrimony on December 5, 1964.  She was an active member of the St. Kateri Catholic Church in Ridgway, Daughters of Isabella, and the St. Kateri Altar Society.  Also she belonged to the Ridgway Order of Eastern Star #714.  Sue is survived by her four sons, Billy Ray and Debbie Kimbro of Carlinville, Donnie Ray Kimbro of Tennessee, James John “J.J.” Kimbro of Ridgway, Benjamin Jospeh “Ben” and Valerie Kimbro of Belleville; four sisters, Judy Scates of Ridgway, Kay and Bob Charleton of Shawneetown, Helen and Ron Rushing of Shawneetown, Debbie and David Fleischer of Colorado; one brother, Bill and Karon Scates of Shawneetown; eight grandchildren, Kaetlin and Stephan Dann, Kallisti Kimbro, Degan Kimbro, Darian Kimbro, Alaric Kimbro , Fritz Kimbro, Christina Seals, Charlie and Saige Seals; five great grandchildren, Ragnar, Max, Charlie, Faelyn, and Jasper.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Larry, Tony and Bob Scates; her sister, Mary Elizabeth Scates.  Visitation for Sue will be held on Monday, June 10th from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway.  Funeral Mass will be held on the following day on Tuesday, June 11th at 10 a.m. at the St. Kateri Catholic Church in Ridgway with Father Vincent Mukasa officiating.  Burial will follow at the Crawford Campground Cemetery near Ridgway.  Donations in Sue’s memory may be made to the Crawford Campground Cemetery.
