Margaret Ellen (Rider) Rash

Margaret  Ellen Rash, 78, of Shawneetown, Illinois, passed away on Saturday morning at her home on November 18, 2023.  She was born on September 17, 1945 in Eldorado, the daughter of John Benedict and Catherine Bernice (Murphy) Rider.  Margaret married Benny G. Rash on June 14, 1974.  She was a member of the Calvary Promise Church.  Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Benny Rash of Shawneetown; her mother, Bernice Rider of Shawneetown; three children, David Rash of Shawneetown, Brenda Stuby of Junction, Kevin and Claudia Rash of Mammoth, Arizona; her sister, Alene and John Shea of Junction; five grandchildren, Ronald Horton, Cheree and Nathan Black, Jacob and Chelsea Rash, Matthew Rash, and Megan Feazel; seven great grandchildren, Gavin Horton, Murphie Horton, Lakelyn Black, Braelyn Rash, Mariah Horton, Hadleigh Feazel, McKynlee Feazel.  She was preceded in death by her father, John Benedict Rider and her brother, Lawrence Benedict Rider.  Visitation for Margaret will be held on Tuesday, November 21st from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.  Reverend James R. Hubbard will officiate with burial at Westwood Cemetery.  Donations may be made in Margaret’s memory to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
