Margery Phillips

Margery Phillips, 88, died February 27, 2008 at 2:25 a.m., at the home of her daughter in Pekin, IL. She was formerly of 3200 Elba Road, Ridgway, IL. Margery Edwards was born April 11, 1919 near Omaha, IL, to Luther and Cleada Carroll Edwards. She graduated from Omaha High School with a 3 year diploma and completed a 4th year at Ridgway High School in 1936. She was a member of Omaha General Baptist Church. On April 19, 1939, Margery and Orlan (Pete) Phillips were married in Junction, IL. She is survived by daughters Connie Ellen Disney of Pekin, and Rita (Ken) Patrick of Princeton, TX, grandchildren Brian (Lisa) Disney, Jo (Aaron) Johnson, Joan Patrick, Leslie Patrick and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Pete in March 15, 1982; sisters, Elsa Mitchell and Artie York; brothers, Amos and Harold Edwards; grandson, Michael Disney and son-in-law, Bill Disney. She was devoted to her church and serving the Lord. Her generous heart, fantastic memory and great sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her, especially her family. Visitation for Margery will be Friday, February 29th , from 4 to 7 p.m. at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Omaha. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 1st at 11 a.m. at the Omaha General Baptist Church. Rev. Bill Dudley, Bro. Jason Miner, and Bro. Corey Atkins. Burial will be at the Lindale Cemetery in Eldorado. Memorials in the memory of Margery may be made to the Omaha General Baptist Church or Orlan and Margery Phillips Scholarship Fund (Oakland City University).
