Marie Stubbs

Marie Stubbs, 89, of Shawneetown, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, 7:33 p.m. at Fountain View Nursing Home in Eldorado. She was born on November 20, 1923 in Shawneetown, the daughter of Harvey and Susan (Seaton) Stubbs. Marie was a retired postal clerk and a member of the First Baptist Church of Shawneetown. She was also a past matron of Shawneetown Eastern Star. Marie is survived by several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Catherine Stanelle, Mayme Scherrer; six brothers, Louis Seaton, Joe Stubbs, Finch Stubbs, Elvis Stubbs, Theodore Stubbs, and Thomas Stubbs Sr. There will be a grave side service on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 10 a.m. at the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery. Pastor Mike Rushing will be officiating with Vickery Funeral Chapel of Shawneetown in charge of arrangements.
