Martin Ralph Colbert

Martin Ralph "Bud" Colbert, 66, of St. John, Ind. formerly of Equality, passed away, Monday, December 10, 2007 at St. Margaret Mercy Hospital in Dyer, Ind. He was born on April 14, 1941 in Eagle Creek Township of Gallatin County, Illinois. Bud was a resident of the St. John area for forty-five years, the owner of Colbert's Parkside Service, and was a member of Equality Masonic Lodge #2. He loved to hunt and fish. He married Ruth Crest on September 30, 1964. Bud is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Ruth Colbert of St. John, Ind.; mother, Rosetta Colbert of Equality; three children, Deb (Chris) Himsel of Pittsboro, Ind., Marty(Lorri Nowell) Colbert of Highland, Ind., and Lynne` Colbert of Indianapolis, Ind.; one brother, Ronald (Nancy) Colbert of Equality; two sister, Sandra (Jim) Frohock of Schererville, Ind., and Brenda Wood of Naples, Fl.; three grandchildren, Samantha and Ryan Colbert and Andrew Himsel; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Ralph Colbert and one sister, Teresa Colbert. Funeral services for Bud will be Saturday, December 15th at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time at 1 p.m. with Reverend Vernon Wasson officiating. Masonic services will be held at 12 noon by Equality Masonic Lodge #2. Burial will be in Colbert Cemetery near Equality.
