Mary Jane (Coons) Fuhr

Mary Jane Fuhr, 97, of Harrisburg, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2023 at her home at the Brookstone Estates in Harrisburg.  She was born on January 11, 1927 in Kentucky.  Mary Jane married Bernard Rube “Bernie” Fuhr on September 13, 1950. Bernie preceded Mary Jane in death on April 27, 2009.  Mary Jane worked at the Cap Factory in Harrisburg and later was a wonderful care giver for several in the community.  Christian by faith she was a member of the Dorrisville Social Brethren.  Mary Jane is survived by her son Ed and Nancy Allen of Hawaii; two grandchildren; Anne and Paul Wright, Alex and Leslie Allen; five great grandchildren, Jack, Parker, and Brady Allen; Amelia and Audrey Wright.  She was preceded in death by her father, Lindsey Coons; and her husband, Bernie.  Visitation for Mary Jane will be held on Friday, February 16th from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality.  Pastor Jerry Wells will officiate the service with burial at Leamington Cemetery near Junction.  In lieu of flowers donations in Mary Jane’s memory may be made to the Leamington Cemetery.  Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
