Mary Louise “Nanny” Patton, 91, of Equality, Illinois, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. Louise was born on March 10, 1931 in the Village of Equality, where she lived all of her 91 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish and was retired from working as an activity director in several local nursing homes. Louise was also an avid crocheter and quilter and spent many hours with her quilting friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Patton; by her parents, Newton and Mary Glover; and by a brother and sister-in-law, William “Buck” and Lena Zirkelbach. Louise is survived by her daughter, Nadine (Mark) York of Equality; two granddaughters, Emily York of Marion and Ella (Jonathan) Travelstead of Carbondale; a grandson, Gareth York of Equality; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald & Norma Glover of Equality; a stepdaughter, Arlene Patton of Mt. Vernon; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Services will be held on Sunday, October 16th , at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality with visitation from 11 am until service time at 1 pm. Father Vincent Mukasa will be officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery near Equality. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Kateri Snackpack Fund.
