Mary (Hall) Mccollum

August 18, 1925 — December 29, 2019

Mary McCollum , 94, of Shawneetown, Illinois, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at midnight at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.  She was born on August 18, 1925 in Shawneetown, the daughter of Ezra and Mary Jane (Cozart) Hall.  Mary married the love of her life, Frank McCollum on January 29, 1942.  Sadly Frank passed away on the 4th of September, 2004. She was a member of the Ohio Valley General Baptist Church in Shawneetown.  Also she worked for twenty-three years at the Loretta Nursing Home in Shawneetown as a licensed cook.  Mary leaves behind one son, Robert Earl and Judy McCollum of Streater; one daughter, Marylynn and Jackie Bean of Ridgway; two sisters, Flora and Ed Rider of Shawneetown, Bernice Yackle of Cottage Grove, Tennessee; two brothers, Roy and Brenda Hall of Shawneetown, Jim and Daisy Hall of Shawneetown; one daughter-in-law, Pam McCollum of Long Point; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Ronald and John Henry McCollum; three sisters, Dorothy, Marjorie, and Mable Blanche Hall; two brothers, Wayne and Ivan Hall.  Visitation for Mary will be held on Tuesday, December 31st from 9 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown.  The Reverend Perry Musgrave will officiate the service.  Burial will follow the service at Mt. Olive Cemetery near Norris City.
